TV not turning on
TV won't turn on? Repair from $120
Try these first
- Unplug the TV from the wall for 60 seconds, then plug it straight into a wall socket (not a power strip).
- Press the power button on the TV itself, not the remote.
- Change the remote batteries.
What the standby light tells us
- No light at all: usually the power board or its fuse.
- Red light on, won't start: power board or main board.
- Red light blinking: the TV is reporting an error code (Sony and some Sharp and Philips TVs blink a set number of times). Count the blinks and send us the number.
- Turns on, then off, or keeps restarting: main board, firmware or power board.
- Stuck on the brand logo: main board or a corrupted software update — sometimes fixable with a firmware reload from $60.
How we fix it
We test the power supply voltages on-site, replace or repair the faulty board, and run the TV for at least 20 minutes before we leave. Common causes are power surges, lightning trips and capacitors ageing in Singapore's heat and humidity.

Questions
Why won't my TV turn on but the red light is on?
The TV is getting standby power but the main power stage isn't starting. It's usually the power board or main board. Repair starts from $120.
My TV keeps turning on and off. Can it be fixed?
Yes. A TV that restarts in a loop usually has a main board or power board fault, or corrupted firmware. Most are fixed in one visit.
Hisense or Samsung TV can't turn on — same fix?
The cause is the same across brands: power board, main board or firmware. We carry common boards for Samsung, LG, Sony, Hisense, TCL and PRISM+.
